Message 6

This activity is a fun way to help your child listen carefully and build their vocabulary. When you give your child a chance to ask questions, they get a chance to think carefully too.

Collect objects that are safe for your child to handle. Give your child these three clues for every object you describe:

-Where in the house it can be found.

-What it is used for.

-The sound you hear at the beginning of the word. If they need more clues, help your child to ask you questions like, “Is it hard? Soft? Fluffy? Prickly? Cold? Smooth? Rough?”

Lo msebenzi uyonwabisa kwaye uncedisana nomntwana wakho ukuba akwazi ukuphulaphula ngenyameko futhi akhe nesigama sakhe. Xa umnika ithuba lokubuza imibuzo umntwana wakho, naye utsho afumane ithuba lokucinga ngokuqaphela.

Qokelela izinto ezingenabungozi anako ukuziphatha umntwana wakho. Nika umntwana wakho ezi zikhokelo zithathu ezimalunga nento nganye oyichazayo: -Apho inokufumaneka khona endlwini. -Isetyenziselwa ntoni. -Isandi sokuqala osivayo ekuqaleni kwegama. Xa efuna ezinye izikhokelo, mncedise umntwana wakho akubuze imibuzo efana nale, “Ingaba iqinile? Ithambile? Intofontofo? Iyahlaba? Iyabanda? Igudile? Irhabaxa?”
